How Interpretation of Tongues Works

Listen to this article

Spiritual languages don’t operate in the same way that Human languages work. That’s why the gift is not called TRANSLATION of tongues, its called INTERPRETATION of tongues.

When you release words from your spirit, the words carry a part of your spirit. This is how impartation happens when we listen to demonic music, or when we listen to the Gospel. Words from the Spirit carry The Spirit with them.

John 6:63 (WEB)
It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

So when your Spirit man is praying, When you release a word, That word carries a part of your Spirit, The message is not just in the WORDS, the message is in the SPIRIT carried by the words.

My spirit man will be praying, and I will feel great love for God, and I will say NDO. That NDO which I have released will carry the expression of my love to God. The natural man will hear NDO. But God will hear the love in my Spirit.

The word is just a medium.

I will then be filled with a desire to do the work of God in my spirit, and my tongue will say NDO.

The natural man will hear NDO but God will hear the expression of my desire to his work coming from my Spirit. So the people around me will hear me saying, NDO NDO NDO NDO NDO.

But God does not hear just the words, He hears the spirit carried by the words, he will hear…

Father I love you so much, I desire to do your work.

So this is why there is needed a gift of interpretation of tongues. How the gift operates is that it connects with the spirit that is speaking. As the words are released, your spirit receives the expression of the spirit carried in each word, and you will understand the message being conveyed.

Let me give a bible example of what I am saying.

Writing appeared on the walls of Belshazzar’s palace, and he called the sorcerers to interpret. The strange thing is that the writing was in Aramaic so it was simple to translate.

Daniel 5:25 (WEB)
This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

Lets Translate these words: Mene is a unit if measurement like for example Kilogram.

Tekel means Weigh, and its also a unit of measurement like for example Tonne. Uparsin is another weight of measurement actually half a Mene.
So its also used to mean Half. Or split into.
Now a rough translation of this in ENGLISH would be like this:

KILOGRAM KILOGRAM WEIGH TONNE HALF A KILOGRAM. If I start saying this to you, will you not say that is nonsense.

Kilogram Kilogram weigh tonne half a Kg. Kilogram Kilogram weigh tonne Half a kg.

To the natural mind that is Gibberish. So this needed someone who had the spirit of God, to catch not the translation of the words, But the expression of the Spirit carried within the words. The Babylonians understood this.

Daniel 4:8 (WEB)
But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods.

Spiritual messages are not translated they are interpreted.

Let’s hear Daniel.

Daniel 5:26-28 (WEB)
26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE: God has counted your kingdom, and brought it to an end.
27 TEKEL: you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.
28 PERES: your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

Kilogram Kilogram Weigh Tonne half a KG.
The message is not in the words, but in the Spirit carried by the words. If you understand how spiritual things operate you will not use Human intellect to judge tongues. That gibberish that the Pentecostals are speaking, is the same that was spoken by the apostles. Great prayers and messages are contained therein. Fallen angels do not necessarily communicate in tongues that are different from those of the angels of God. Just as bad people do not have their own special language for bad people.

Fallen angels and angels of God can speak in similar sounding tongues. What makes them false is not how they sound. But the spirit and the Message they carry. We do not judge tongues by how they sound. We judge by discernment of the spirit.

1 Corithians 2:12-14
12.What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

13.This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

14.The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
