Can Satan Block My Prayers?

Listen to this article

I don’t believe Satan has the power to block God from hearing your prayers as a christian because of the following reasons.

– The Holy Spirit now indwells you. This means that you carry the very presence of God within you. He is united with your Spirit and therefore he knows and hears all that is in you.

– Scripture says that we can now boldly come into the throne of God to present our needs.

Hebrews 4:16 New King James Version (NKJV)
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Anyways, this does not mean that the devil is not without his devices. Though he can not block your prayers, he is a thief, and a murderer, so he uses other means to try to rob you of the rewards that God has assigned to you.

John 10:10 New International Version
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Revelation 3:11 New King James Version (NKJV)
11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

Colossians 2:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

The Devil uses misdirection, lies, fear and other tools to try and keep you from seeing your answer, or living it. But If you remain strong in faith and in the Word, you will overcome.

let me give a bible example of what I mean.

Paul makes another prayer to the Ephesians.. Rooted in his knowledge that God has given them all Spiritual blessings in Christ.

Ephesians 2:14-17
14  For this reason I kneel before the Father,  15  from whom every family in heaven and on the earth is named.  16  I pray that according to the wealth of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,  17  that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,

Matthew 14:25-33 New International Version (NIV)
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

A lot of people have had this Peter on water experience and concluded that God had not heard their prayers. Imagine this, Peter asked Jesus for the ability to walk on water, Jesus gave him the go ahead, but after a short while, Peter started sinking.

How many times have you prayed to God for something, God says It is well, then you begin to drown. And you wonder if it was God who had spoken to you in the first place.

You say, God I want to plant a church in a certain town, “God says Yes, Go ahead.” But when you get there, everything goes wrong. The waters start to lift and turn and you start to wonder whether you it was God who had sent you. And ,like Peter, you start crying, “Lord Save me”. That second Prayer was a prayer of doubt. A prayer of fear. And His doubt made the initial answer from Jesus ineffective and he was now sinking.

This is what happens to lot of Christians. And they end up saying, God never heard my prayers.
